The Executive Secretary and CEO of the Nigerian Press Council (NPC), Dr. Dili Ezughah, participated in a high-level meeting of the National Communications Team (NCT) alongside the Honourable Minister of Information & National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, senior media and communications aides of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and heads of agencies under the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation.
The meeting, which served as a strategic platform for policy alignment, media coordination, and national information management, focused on strengthening communication frameworks to enhance government-media relations, public engagement, and information dissemination. Discussions centered on addressing press freedom, ethical journalism, combating misinformation, and the evolving challenges of digital media in Nigeria.

Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Ezughah reiterated the NPC’s commitment to promoting responsible journalism, professional media practices, and upholding regulatory standards that ensure a free, fair, and ethical press. He emphasized the role of the press in fostering national unity, transparency, and accountability, while also advocating for continued collaboration between government agencies, media professionals, and regulatory bodies to address emerging challenges in the media landscape.
