
The Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Press Council (NPC), Dr. Dili Ezughah, has officially signed a Performance Bond on Presidential Priorities and Ministerial Deliverables at a high-level sector retreat held at the Reid Intercontinental Hotel, Abuja. The event, which brought together key government officials, policymakers, and stakeholders, reinforced the federal government’s commitment to achieving strategic national goals through accountability and measurable outcomes.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Dr. Ezughah reaffirmed the Nigerian Press Council’s dedication to upholding press freedom, enhancing media regulation, and promoting professional journalism in line with the administration’s priorities. He highlighted the critical role of the media in national development, emphasizing the need for ethical reporting, responsible journalism, and the fight against misinformation in the digital age.

The Performance Bond outlines specific objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) aimed at improving media governance, public information management, and institutional efficiency within the Ministry of Information and National Orientation. By signing the agreement, the NPC commits to aligning its activities with national development priorities, including capacity building for journalists, policy advisory support, and enhanced media monitoring strategies.
